A fire at First Church of God on Saturday night left congregants without their house of worship today — and maybe longer.

Mt. Pleasant – MPFD responded to a house fire at 1342 Hidden Lakes Drive in the Hidden Lakes subdivision on Saturday night. Heavy smokes conditions were reported upon arrival of initial units.

Charleston Fire gets RIT donation

Charleston – The Charleston Fire Department now has more life saving equipment.  Friday, the Charleston Firefighter’s Association donated four rapid intervention team packs. They are air bottles, masks and assorted tools to help get down firefighters out of danger safely.

A passing firefighter noticed smoke coming from a home on Galilee Road Monday morning around 11 a.m.
The home is owned by Summa Builders, Inc. and was being rented by Johnny Kinard.

Byrdtown celebrates 30 years

The Darlington County Fire District Byrdtown Rural Fire Department Station 12 celebrated its 30th anniversary and honored Larry Stegner, who has been with the station since its beginnings in 1979.
